]]> A channel is a metal product that forms the letter “П” in cross section. At the channel, walls and a shelf are distinguished. On the cross section, the wall is called the “jumper”, and the shelves are the legs of the letter “П”. The most important characteristics of shelves and walls are standard sizes. So the height of the channel is understood as the height of its shelves.

A steel channel is made from rolled steel by the method of hot rolling blanks on section mills. The channel is made with a slope of the inner edges of the shelves and with parallel shelves. The channel number indicates its height.
